So you are thinking of making your own wine, but are not sure what is involved in the process. Making your own wine at WINEhaven is effortless. Come visit the store and pick out a desired wine kit. The knowledgeable staff can assist you in determining the most suitable wine for your palate or situation. The wine kit is mixed in a fermenting pale and the yeast is sprinkled in by you, to officially start the wine making process.

The staff place the pail in the fermenting area of the store. The wine is left in the pail until it has completed 90% of fermentation (approximately 10 days). It is then transferred to a carboy for fermentation completion and settling (10 to 14 days). Each kit comes with a package of key ingredients to stabilize the wine, to prevent the wine from further fermentation (when in the bottle) and to clear the wine. These ingredients are added to the wine and the wine is stirred vigorously for 2 days (2 or 3 times a day) to release the fermenting gases, ensuring that all the wines will not have a tingling or bubbly taste when bottled. The wines are left to stabilize and clear for 1 week to 1 month, depending on the kits (the higher grade kits are left longer).

The wine is then filtered into clear carboys for preparation of the bottling process.

If you chose to Oak Age your wine in the oak barrels, the wine is transferred into the barrel at the 6 week mark in th ewine marking process.

The brewmaster will taste the wine every couple of days over that period to ensure the appropriate amount of oak is blended in the wine.

You now come in at your appointment to bottle, bringing with you the bottles you have collected or purchase bottles of your choice in the store. With the industrial bottle washing machine, it takes in the order of a couple of minutes to wash a batch of 30 bottles. The rack of bottles are placed on a cart and wheeled to the bottling station, which includes, an automated bottle filler (enolmatic filler), a pneumatic corker, a shrink cap machine and area to place labels on the bottles. You can also sample your wine during the bottling process.......the best part!!!!. The bottling process takes anywhere from 20 minutes to 40 minutes, depending if you are dressing your bottles with labels and shrink caps.

Now come and enjoy the experience
